Buyers new to powder processing sometimes ask whether they need a vibro sifter or a multi mill. The short answer: they do different jobs.
| Vibro sifter | Multi mill | |
|---|---|---|
| Function | Separates particles by size | Reduces particle size |
| Mechanism | Gyratory vibration over a mesh | Rotating blades / beaters against a screen |
| Changes particles? | No | Yes – breaks them |
| Typical use | De-lumping, grading, check screening | Size reduction of wet mass or dried granules |
How They Work Together
In a typical wet granulation line: dried granules are sifted; on-size granules go forward, oversize goes to the multi mill and is then sifted again. A double deck sifter also removes fines at the same time.
Which One Do You Need?
- If your material is already the right size but contains lumps or foreign matter – vibro sifter.
- If your particles are too big and must be made smaller – multi mill.
- If you are setting up a granulation line – usually both.
Sterial Machinery manufactures both. See the multi mill on our main website.
