A multi-deck vibro sifter stacks two or three screens of different mesh sizes in one machine. Material passes through the decks from coarsest to finest, so a single feed is split into several size fractions in one pass. How Many Fractions Does Each Configuration Give?

Example: Granule Grading After Drying
A dried granulation often contains oversize lumps, granules in the target range and fines. With a double deck sifter, the top screen removes oversize (which can go to a multi mill), the bottom screen removes fines, and on-size granules are collected from the middle outlet. Doing this on single deck machines would need two passes or two machines.
When to Choose a Multi-Deck Vibro Sifter
- You need more than two size fractions from one material.
- Floor space or ceiling height does not allow two machines in series.
- You want to reduce handling between sifting steps.
- Your product specification limits both oversize and fines.
Points to Consider
- Each deck adds height – check the charging height against your loading method.
- The finest screen sees the least material; size the machine on the deck with the hardest separation.
- More screens means more parts to clean and inspect; plan changeover time.
- Very fine bottom screens may blind with sticky powders – discuss the material with us first.
